Brush your dog thoroughly before bathing to remove loose fur and prevent matting once wet. Use lukewarm water and a dog-specific shampoo — human shampoo can dry out and irritate their skin.
Work from neck to tail, avoiding the eyes and ears, and rinse thoroughly since leftover shampoo residue is a common cause of skin irritation.
Towel dry immediately afterward and keep your dog somewhere warm until fully dry, especially during the harmattan season.
